A folk collective formed in Oxford (UK), Floyds Row explores traditional renditions and original works. Fusing several styles, Floyds Row explores the connections between classical, folk, roots revival, Americana, and bluegrass/newgrass repertoire.
“the audience experiences an eclectic performance that draws from each artist’s training and background” – Amy McGuire, inGaithersburg Magazine
“genre-fusing ensemble” – Ellyn Wexler, Culture Spot-Montgomery County
“A mix of Purcell and Bob Dylan played on various instruments, including an accordion and a viola da gamba. Kinda crazy, but it works.” – David Rabin, WPFW Radio
“No two shows are alike, but the performances guarantee an eclectic mix of traditional pieces from composers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, covers from modern folk singers such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and the Grateful Dead, as well as original compositions that pull from the meld of the traditional and the classical.” – Dominique Agnew, North Potomac Times
“sophisticated folkies” – Marc Levy, Cambridge Day

For the past ten years, ValleyCAST has held the Free Summer Concert Series featuring talented, local bands for people of all abilities to enjoy together in our plaza. This year will be different, but you will enjoy the same commuinity spirit!
Every Thursday evening beginning July 2 until September 3, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM enjoy your favorite local bands for a free virtual concert on our ValleyCAST Facebook page.
Gather around the computer and make sure your speakers are turned up! Better yet, make a night of it and bring your laptop and portable speakers outside and enjoy a nice picnic dinner in your comfy lawn chair or on a nice blanket! Enjoy!
See the line-up of bands below with links to their websites or Facebook pages for more information about each band. Each week the concert will stay up on our Facebook page, so even if you miss the actual concert night you can still watch it there or on our ValleyCAST YouTube Channel.
This program is also supported in part by a grant from the Northbridge Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Any medium is welcome: paint, draw, photograph, sculpt, use mixed media, decoupage, stained glass, clay, mosaic, pottery, anything you want, as long as you follow the Art Prompt of the week.
You can post to any week, any time, below the prompt on the Facebook page. We’ll then make a video of all the artwork that was posted and upload it to our ValleyCAST YouTube Channel.
Check out the ones we’ve already posted and get inspired to create something yourself!
Keep an eye out for our next round of art prompts!
